Just to name a few:
- The Mouth of Happiness: This would be the jaws of life. Having witnessed some firemen using this tool for the first time, I was trying to explain it to my father. Failing to remember the true name, I settled on the more optimistic term.
Actually, that's all I will disclose right now...
Keep reading and I wouldn't be surprised if one slipped into a blog entry again. ;)
Anyway, I keep thinking of the perpetuality of life. (This is the reason I felt it necessary to define an amberism. It's a made-up word that describes how I feel perfectly.)
I always wished for the power of Zack Morris. The ability to freeze frame a moment in time and reflect would come in handy.
Let me explain. The reality of the perpetual nature of life can be daunting. Perpetuality helps me understand the heaviness of 'to do' lists and responsibilities. Despite the fact that we're alive and well, it is undeniable that we are slowly dying. And even when people die, nothing stops. You would hope that the world would pause for you to digest the loss of a loved one; to take a deep breath, soak it in and try to understand. This is not the case. Somewhere, it's someone's birthday; and somewhere else, people are getting married; and somewhere else, someone's starving. People everywhere are moving and changing; learning and exploring; living and dying.
What you do with your own perpetuating time here is purely up to you. So, when the expired licenses, looming debts or hectic schedules start to bring you down, mull this over a bit:
If your life stopped perpetuating today, what sorts of loose ends would you mind leaving untied?
I want to give credit to A Beautiful Mess blog for getting the wheels turning. I read the post 'if not now, then when?' and my mind's been reeling all day.
